An enemy saboteur who tried to destroy strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

This was reported in the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the attacker voluntarily joined the occupation groups of the 1st Army Corps of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.

“According to the investigation, the attacker is a resident of the Donetsk region, who after February 24 joined the 1st Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the People’s Militia of the People’s Republic of China, created by the Russian Federation. There, he was appointed to the “position” of a shooter, and later transferred to the reconnaissance group of the Russian invaders,” the report says.

As part of a reconnaissance group of enemy troops, he took an active part in combat operations against the Defense Forces in the Zaporozhye direction.

In July, the man was tasked as part of a Russian sabotage and intelligence group to make a sortie on the positions of the Armed Forces on the front line to destroy the strongholds of the Ukrainian defenders. However, during the raid, the enemy DRG was promptly exposed and eliminated, and the militant himself was captured.

Currently, on the basis of the collected evidence, the court found the militant guilty under Part 2 of Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

On December 23, it became known that the Russian DRG tried to invade the territory of the Sumy region, Ukrainian defenders entered into battle with them.

According to military expert Yuriy Fedorov, subversive intelligence groups will continue their attempts to penetrate the territory of Ukraine.
