Russian President Vladimir Putin, following the cancellation of the New Year’s press conference, decided to refuse a meeting to his own propagandists. His press secretary Dmytro Peskov referred to the “health” of the dictator.

According to the Russian mass media, the refusal to meet with the “Kremlin pool” in the Kremlin is explained by the need to protect Putin’s health.

The format of communication with the media will be the same as during the pandemic.

“It’s unlikely [общение] will be exactly the same as it was before the pandemic in the near term. There is no sin to hide. You see the processes of virus mutation, strong epidemiological waves of influenza. All in all, taking into account the lessons of the pandemic, those who are responsible for the safety of the president and his health are obliged to take precautionary measures, because in such conditions, the health of the president is a matter of state security. It would be wrong to say that it will soon be the same as before. I will answer – it won’t be,” said Peskov.

He added that “as these waves go to a lower point, then it will be possible to communicate in a more free mode.”

Putin is afraid of the public – that is known

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Putin has increasingly isolated himself from the public. Even for propaganda stories, “extras” are hired for meetings with Putin.

Separately, the media wrote about Putin’s secret bunker in the Ural Mountains. According to some Russian politicians, in this way the head of the Kremlin tries to protect himself from criticism of his entourage or attempts on his life.

This year, Putin’s New Year’s “direct line” with citizens was also canceled – for the first time in 10 years.
