The recruitment of new soldiers will begin in the first half of January.
Yesterday, December 29, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the end of mobilization. However, Ukrainian intelligence has other information. The Russian Federation is planning a new wave of conscription, which will begin in the first half of January.
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov reported this information in an interview with the BBC. He stated: “During the formation of new units, they (the occupiers – ) lack manpower. Based on this, they are now considering and have already made a decision to start another wave of mobilization from January 5.”
According to Budanov, there are also problems with the staffing of existing units in the Rashisti. They take part in hostilities and constantly suffer heavy losses. The head of intelligence believes that it is not particularly important when a new wave of mobilization will be announced, because the Russians will have to resort to such a step. “January 5 or 9 – in principle, it will not change anything,” Budanov added.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications also reported that the end of the draft in Russia took place only on paper. The mobilization “didn’t go anywhere”, and people continue to be taken to the war.
We will remind, in the same interview, Budanov told why the hostilities came to a dead end. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, as before, lacks the resources to advance, and the invaders cannot break the defense of Ukrainian soldiers.
Mobilization in Russia: the latest information
In the temporarily occupied Genichesk, Rashists are conducting mobilization under the guise of recruitment for the so-called “police”. Such “law enforcement officers” are gradually transferred closer to the areas of hostilities.
On December 23, the Military Committee of the Tyumen Region, Oleksiy Kulychkov, stated: “We are not saying ‘called by mistake’. The citizens were called for mobilization! If there were any mistakes, then in most cases they are the fault of the citizen himself. Because someone did not submit their credentials in a timely manner and did not apply to the military commissariat at the place of residence”.
Military and political commentator Oleksandr Kovalenko believes that the “partial” mobilization in the Russian Federation did not yield results. It only increased the losses of the occupying forces.
