The shelling came from the opposite bank of the Dnieper – from the occupied Kakhovka.
The Russians shelled the center of the city of Berislav on the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region from a tank. Five people were injured. This was announced by the head of Kherson OV Yaroslav Yanushevich.
“This morning, the Russians attacked the center of Berislav – shelled the city market. Probably, the fire came from a tank from the side of the temporarily occupied Kakhovka,” he wrote in his telegram.
According to the authorities, five people were injured as a result of this shelling. Moreover, three are in serious condition; they are planned to be evacuated to Kherson for the provision of necessary medical assistance.
Shelling of the Kherson region
After the liberation of Kherson and the entire right bank of the Kherson region in November, the Russians refrained from shelling this territory for several days. However, soon the liberated areas began to be shelled even more intensively than other front-line areas.
The most massive shelling of Kherson took place on Christmas Eve, December 24. Then, during the shelling of the central part of the city, 10 people died, 68 were injured.
The Russians also stepped up shelling of the liberated territory of Kherson Oblast on New Year’s Eve. In total, about 40 blows were inflicted.
