The film company Adastra Cinema confirmed that the film “The Cat” – one of the most outstanding and interesting film premieres of 2022 – will be released in Ukrainian cinemas in 2023; The exact date of the Ukrainian premiere of Darren Aronofsky’s film (“Mama!”, “Requiem for a Dream”) is promised to be announced in the near future.
“The Cat” is an adaptation of the play of the same name by Samuel D. Hunter based on his own script. In the center of the plot is Charlie’s father, who suffers from obesity and tries to establish a relationship with his teenage daughter. The lead role in Aronofsky’s first film in five years was played by Brendan Fraser, the star of “The Mummy”.
The world premiere of the film “Cat” took place on December 9, 2022. The picture was part of the main program of film festivals in Venice and Toronto, where all attention was paid to the incredible reincarnation of Brendan Fraser. The Canadian-American actor, thanks to his performance, became the obvious front-runner for the upcoming Oscar, and the world press called “The Cat” a full-fledged comeback of the actor in the full-length cinema.
