By the New Year, Russian troops have almost completely exhausted the resource of their autumn mobilization, the columnist emphasized.
Military and political commentator Oleksandr Kovalenko questioned Russia’s ability to organize a new offensive against Ukraine.
“By the New Year, the Russian troops have almost completely exhausted the resource of their autumn mobilization, because every unit that has lost combat capability should be compensated. The question arises, when will the resource of “mobilization” go to zero? Judging by the acceleration of the loss rate, by the end of February, the beginning of March, September there will be practically no biomass in the composition of the Russian troops. That is, for January and February, they need to collect compensation for these prospective losses, or at least 50 thousand per month. And not only that,” he noted.
According to him, 50 thousand is a compensatory indicator that is spent per month, therefore, a full compensation should be a quantitative indicator of at least 100 thousand:
“And this is only the part that is in the war zone.”
As Kovalenko noted, in order for Russia to be able to implement the plan for a protracted war, this number should be significantly higher in monthly terms, and for a new large-scale offensive, it should generally exceed 150-200 thousand per month.
Russia’s new offensive – what was reported
We will remind, the advisor of the President’s Office of Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Oleksiy Arestovych, said that the Russians may go on the offensive in the near future.
As noted by military expert Serhiy Grabskyi, a new large-scale offensive by Russia is currently impossible. The troops of the Russian Federation simply physically cannot concentrate such forces and means that would ensure its offensive on all fronts, he explained
