At the interbank level, the cash dollar will remain within the corridor from 36.57 to 36.94 hryvnias/dollar, the economist noted.
The dollar exchange rate in Ukraine in the period from January 5 to 11 in banks will be within the corridor – from 39.60 to 41.35 UAH/dollar, and in exchange offices of financial companies – from 40.10 to 41.10 UAH/dollar.
Financial expert Oleksiy Kozyrev made such a forecast, stressing that currency risks are increasing every day: “New Year’s hibernation is over.”
The economist predicts that nothing will change at the interbank level and the cash dollar will remain within the corridor from 36.57 to 36.94 hryvnias/dollar.
“Demand has continued to exceed supply since the first days of January, and the National Bank is already periodically entering the market and carrying out interventions to sell the dollar. The same situation will be these days. But, taking into account the New Year holidays, the amounts will be somewhat smaller than at the end of 2022 In the last week of 2022, the National Bank spent about 1.1 billion dollars and thus closed the deficit, so I expect that now it will cost from 320 to 550 million dollars,” said Kozyrev.
