The Ukrainian hryvnia was taken out of circulation in the city by threatening entrepreneurs with fines and confiscation of property.

In Energodar, Zaporizhia region, the Russian occupation forces forced about 3,000 workers of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant to obtain so-called Russian passports.

This is stated in a message on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding operational information as of 6:00 a.m. It is noted that the Russian invaders continue psychological and physical pressure on the civilian population of the temporarily occupied and occupied territories.

“In particular, in the city of Energodar, Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupation forces forced about 3,000 workers of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to obtain so-called Russian passports,” the report says.

“The number of residential premises seized by the occupiers, which were abandoned by forced migrants, has increased significantly,” the General Staff added.

As reported, on January 5, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Malyar emphasized that the enemy is intensifying administrative pressure on the civilian population of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

She reported that in order to speed up the process of forced “passportization”, the enemy informs that from the beginning of 2023, receiving services or carrying out any operations in so-called “state institutions” will be possible only in the presence of a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

Repression in the temporarily occupied territories: the latest information

According to the General Staff, in Kakhovka, the occupiers are trying to withdraw the hryvnia from circulation. They carry out raids on trading points and threaten entrepreneurs to take not only cash, but also goods.

In the Kherson and Luhansk regions, the Rashists also strengthened checks on the local population regarding correspondence with relatives from the territories controlled by Ukraine and the transmission of information.

In the temporarily captured left-bank Kherson region, the occupiers introduced aggressive filtering measures. They are recorded in Kalanchak and Chulakivka.
