At night, another echelon with soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces arrived in Belarus.
Yesterday, four echelons with equipment and military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces arrived in Belarus from Russia.
As the “Belarusian Gayun” monitoring group reports, at 07:30 on January 6, a train arrived at the Polonka railway station (Baranovichi district, Brest region), in which there were: ≈30 platform wagons with wheeled machinery, 4 covered wagons and 2 passenger wagons with personnel. Among the vehicles noticed: Urals, Kamaz, armored personnel carriers, gasoline trucks. This echelon left on January 3 at 2:50 p.m. from the Kantemyruvanny railway station (Voronezh region, Russian Federation), which is located on the border with the Luhansk region of Ukraine.
It is noted that 262 bases for storage and repair of military equipment (tanks), as well as 1 separate tank brigade (created in 2015) are located in the city of Boguchar, Voronezh region. The distance from Boguchar to Kantemyruvanny station is about 60 km.
In addition, it is also known that yesterday morning at the Slonim railway station (Hrodna region, Belarus) another echelon with equipment of the Russian Armed Forces arrived, consisting of ≈27 platform wagons with wheeled and tracked equipment.
In addition, the 3rd echelon was also spotted: it arrived in Baranovichi. Among the equipment, the following were noticed: ≈ 43 units of KamAZs and Urals, BAZ-6306, 5 fuel trucks, 2 ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, field kitchens and water barrels. Many trucks have the identifying symbol “Z”.
Also at night at 02:10 a special train with 15 passenger cars passed through the Smolensk station in the direction of Belarus. At night, the echelon could arrive at Orsha or Vitebsk. It is reported that 800 personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were traveling in the wagons. It cannot be ruled out that after stopping in the Vitebsk region, the echelon could continue its movement to the Brest region, for example, to the Baranovichi district.
Strengthening of the group and transfer of troops to Belarus: details
As of December 28, 2022, there were more than 10,000 Russian soldiers in Belarus. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus has announced joint flight and tactical aviation exercises with Russia.
Another batch of new BTR-82A arrived in Belarus on January 5: an echelon with 34 pieces of equipment (corresponding to the battalion set) was heading towards Brest.
