The statement of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, about the so-called Christmas truce is intended exclusively for Russians. The occupiers want to try on the image of peacekeepers.

“The latest steps taken by the Moscow racist regime show that these are convulsions before the regime reaches its end… All these truces are exclusively for internal use, to somehow feed their population, which needs victories. Therefore, we must look for at least something,” said the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Volodymyr Ogryzko, in an interview with TSN.

He noted that the Russian invaders want to try on the image of peacekeepers – “what kind of peace are they, just please give back everything we took from you, satisfy all our whims, and then we’ll start talking about something.”

“This is an obvious delusion that no one will ever follow. There is an unequivocal reaction of Ukraine and all civilized countries that this is another propaganda step that has nothing practical,” the diplomat concluded.

Christmas “truce” – what is known

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kyrylo, called on Christmas to ensure a truce in Ukraine to “give believers the opportunity to attend church services.” In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the corresponding order.

At the same time, the adviser to the head of the OPU, Mykhailo Podolyak, called such statements by the Russian authorities a way to lead Ukraine into a trap.

In addition, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War reported that the so-called truce is beneficial to the Russian army, and the head of the Kremlin wants to slander the soldiers of the Armed Forces.

Against this background, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Putin is using the pause to prepare for the continuation of the war against Ukraine.
