One volley of TGS “Soncepek” can cover an area of 40 hectares.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov explained why the Russian Federation infrequently uses the heavy flamethrower systems “Soncepek” on the front, which are praised by Russian propaganda. According to him, there are very few of these systems in Russia.
As Zhdanov noted, answering the questions of YouTube subscribers, the enemy used these TGS in the Bakhmut direction as well.
“The fact is that what is desired is what is real. Indeed, during the 10 months of the war, the Russian Federation, including in the Bakhmut direction, used “Sontsepek” two or three times in total, in my opinion. It is not there. That’s what the main problem,” he said.
The expert reminded that one volley of this system – 20 shells – can cover an area of 40 hectares.
“The maximum range of “Tosochka” – this is the latest modification – 15 kilometers, “Sunset” – 10 kilometers, “Buratino” – 6 kilometers. This is the firing range. This is a means of direct support of the infantry, and it is located immediately behind the combat ranks. First, there are none in the Russian Federation, very few of them were produced, and even fewer shells for them, because they are very expensive. As always, you can return to the phrase “Glory to Russian corruption!”. On paper, everything was cool. And here are these tactical fire systems very rarely appear as part of columns or echelons moving in the direction of the front. Over the past two months, I have never seen a TGS being part of an echelon or part of a column anywhere,” Zhdanov continued.
According to him, Ukraine monitors the appearance of these systems in the enemy’s battle formations and immediately destroys them.
“Of course, we understand what damage this system can cause to our troops. Naturally, we hunt for this system. As soon as it appears in battle formations, it is immediately destroyed by all available means. By the way, we captured several systems at the end of the summer – At the beginning of autumn, they even had ammunition and, in my opinion, there were even transport loaders with full BC, and we used them, we hit the Russian troops with their own weapons, but given the fact that there were very few of them . it is no longer used,” the expert summarized.
“Sontsepek” TGS at war in Ukraine
Ukrainian defenders turned the racist “Sontsepek” volley fire system into scrap metal. The enemy’s equipment was hit by the domestic anti-tank missile complex “Stugna-P”.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine named the best trophy MLRS that were captured from the occupiers. First place TOS-1A “Sontsepek” – a legend of Russian propaganda. Several such complexes are already in service with the Armed Forces.
