The occupiers are transferring additional resources to the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhia region, but are afraid to place them in Melitopol due to the action of the resistance forces, which pass information to the Ukrainian special services.
The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, announced this on the air of an information telethon. According to him, the Armed Forces will learn about everything the occupiers are doing in Melitopol.
“It should be noted that now they are catching up with their echelons of military equipment to Sokol-Girnychy – this is almost the border of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, because they are afraid to deliver them to Melitopol. They understand that everything that is in Melitopol will be immediately recognized by our resistance forces special services, our Armed Forces,” Fedorov said.
He noted that in recent days, regular batches of mobilized people have been arriving, who are mainly stationed on the Azov coast.
“They are afraid to settle in Melitopol, especially after the explosions that happened last weekend, when the Rashist ammunition warehouse at one of the industrial enterprises was completely destroyed. We also see significant losses of the occupiers. For example, yesterday a whole truckload of killed Rashists was brought to the Melitopol morgue.” . . Today, the morgue is completely overcrowded and even civilians do not have access to it if someone has died,” the mayor said.
According to him, in the village of Velyka Bilozerka, the occupiers completely transformed one of the schools into a morgue, and mass graves are being arranged there on the territory of the agricultural company.
The war in Ukraine – the situation in Melitopol
As reported, according to the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov, since the beginning of January, the Russians started a new wave of terror against the civilian population in the temporarily occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhia region. In general, the mayor noted, the Russians turned the occupied territories of Ukraine into prisons, and individual settlements into prison cells. Russian troops do not allow people to leave the occupied territories.
According to the Center of National Resistance in the temporarily occupied Melitopol of the Zaporizhia region, the occupation administration, in order to identify members of the Ukrainian underground, called on residents to report “suspicious people” in the Telegram chatbot.
In addition, the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of January 8 in Melitopol, the occupiers’ base and enemy equipment were destroyed. According to locals, the ammunition detonated for more than an hour. And Ivan Fedorov noted that a full truck with the bodies of liquidated Russian soldiers was brought to the Melitopol morgue. City hospitals are full of wounded occupiers who were brought from Vasylivka and other settlements located north of Melitopol.
