Bill Gates has an impressive resume: co-founder and at various times chairman, chief executive officer, president and chief software architect of Microsoft; the sixth richest person in the world; author; a famous philanthropist. Many people may be interested in what gadgets people with such a track record use. As it turned out, Gates is a fan of good smartphones, but not those produced by the company he previously managed.
Bill Gates switched to Android
In a Reddit AMA last year, Gates talked about his love for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, saying it’s a great portable PC and phone. The other day, while participating in a new Reddit AMA session, Gates was asked if he was using the new phone as a regular day-to-day device. He replied that he works with the Galaxy Fold 4. Considering his personal fortune of about $111 billion, he was unlikely to be embarrassed by the price of a smartphone at the level of $2000. But in fact, Gates didn’t even have to pay for the phone – he received a Galaxy Fold 4 as a gift from Samsung chairman Lee Jae-yeon when they met in South Korea.
Gates clarified that he is still a fan of Microsoft’s solutions, mentioning that he uses Outlook and other company software on his Galaxy Fold 4. Gates also emphasized that the large size of the open screen of the smartphone allows him not to use a tablet, but to limit himself only with a phone and a “portable” PC with Windows.

In addition, Gates was asked to confirm rumors that the next version of the Microsoft Duo will lose the dual-display design and switch to a larger Fold-style display. To this, Gates said that he was not aware of the company’s plans to release new hardware devices.
