The victims regularly communicate.
Specialists continue to dismantle the rubble at the site of the high-rise building destroyed by a Russian missile in Dnipro, hoping to save as many people alive as possible. Local authorities know that they exist and are waiting for help.
As the deputy mayor of Dnipro, Mykhailo Lysenko, said, the victims regularly get in touch – they literally write text messages from under the rubble.
“There are still living people under the rubble, and there are living people. They continue to text. Periodically we make moments of “silence” – and people from under the rubble shout so as not to harm them. I would like to do the work faster, but we do it with minimal damage , so that people are not harmed, so that those who remained alive are not harmed,” the official shared.
A massive missile attack on Ukraine – shelling of the Dnipro
On January 14, Russia fired 38 missiles of various types at Ukrainian cities, targeting, in particular, energy facilities. At the same time, in Dnipro, the occupiers got to a high-rise building in which about 1,700 people lived.
There could be up to 200 people in the destroyed entrance, including 50 children. It is known that 14 children are among the victims, the youngest child is three years old. All the children were hospitalized, the condition of one of the victims – a nine-year-old girl – is described as serious.
There is no electricity or gas supply in the building, as a result of the impact, one (according to other information, two) entrances were completely destroyed, and windows were broken in others. More than 1,000 people need housing.
Rescuers continue to dismantle the rubble and get people out from under it. The mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, informed that the works will probably last all night.
At the same time, the Russians are crying over the tragedy, calling for even more bloodshed among Ukrainian citizens.
