All airfields are used to ensure the training, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported.

In Belarus, on January 16, joint flight and tactical exercises of the aviation units of the armed forces, which are part of the aviation component of the “regional grouping of troops”, began with Russia.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, a military formation of the Air and Space Forces is participating in the exercises from the Russian side.

“The main goal of the exercise is to increase operational interoperability during the joint execution of training and combat tasks,” the message says.

During the exercises, the Belarusian and Russian military are allegedly going to practice:

• air reconnaissance;
• joint airspace patrolling along the border;
• aviation support of troop groups;
• tactical airborne landing;
• cargo delivery and evacuation of the wounded.

Russian fighters in Belarus – what was reported

We will remind, the day before, on January 15, eight Russian fighter jets (four Su-34 and four Su-30), as well as four cargo planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces, arrived in Belarus.

According to observers, at least some of the freighters brought something, perhaps ammunition for fighters.

Before the arrival of the fighters, two more Su-34 VKS of the Russian Federation were stationed in Baranovichi.
