The author of the initiative does not hide that he wants to make any opposition activity in the country impossible.
In Russia, they want to confiscate the property of opponents of the Putin regime in order to finance the costs of compensation for the families of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine. Oleksandr Karabanov, head of the Fund for the Protection of National Historical Heritage, took this initiative, writes Lenta.ru.
It is proposed to seize the property of those who are recognized as “foreign agents” in Russia. Opposition activists and journalists are counted among these in Russia.
“Foreign agents are embedded in a huge system of intelligence units, whose only task is to harm the security of the country and its citizens. Perhaps it makes sense to create additional funds to support the families of fallen servicemen, which will be financed, in particular, from the sale of property of foreign agents,” Karabanov said.
According to him, he has already sent a proposal to the State Duma to seize the property of foreign agents and “persons who discredit the armed forces.”
“This will be an effective filter against reckless actions for the category of citizens who do not have a conscious position and whose opinion is subject to influence by the Western mass media or “opinion leaders” who work for the benefit of foreign intelligence services,” Karabanov explains.
He considers the purpose of such measures to be not just the fight against foreign agents, but the desire to make their activities in Russia “either seriously difficult or impossible in principle.”
The situation in Russia – current news
Russian society and the state continue to move towards isolation from the rest of the world. According to the media, Russian officials are advised not to go on holiday abroad anymore.
At the same time, the level of support for the war in Russia jumped again after falling against the background of mobilization. The Kremlin still manages to suppress Russian discontent.
In the army itself, the mess continues. The other day, about 200 Russian soldiers rioted because of the cold on the train that was taking them to the war in Ukraine.
