The sale of new AMD Ryzen 7000 processors is directly related to the availability of motherboards equipped with the AM5 connector. The new platform provides for the use of both a new processor connector and DDR5 memory. Therefore, it will not be possible to easily modernize the system – it is necessary to buy many new components. And the price of components often affects the purchase decision.
Earlier this month, AMD introduced the Ryzen 7000 series (non-X) desktop processors, which are offered at a more affordable price compared to the Ryzen 7000X line. And soon, more affordable motherboards with an AM5 connector should appear on sale. Novelties based on the A620 system logic kit were spotted at the regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Commission and at the Goofish trading platform. The following motherboards were listed there:
- ASUS TUF GAMING A620M-PLUS D5
- GIGABYTE A620M D3H
- GIGABYTE A620M DS3H
- GIGABYTE A620M S2H
- GIGABYTE A620M H
- GIGABYTE A620M K
As part of the announcement of Ryzen 7000 processors and X670/X670E series chipsets, AMD announced its intention to sell AM5 motherboards starting at $125. The current entry point for the new platform is around $388 when you consider the most affordable Ryzen 7 7600 processor ($229) and the cheapest motherboard with the B650 chipset ($159-$169). But you still need to consider the cost of new DDR5 memory.

The A620 chipset will almost certainly get fewer PCIe lanes and less USB ports. Buyers should also be prepared for the lack of PCIe Gen5 support and, most likely, locked overclocking capabilities. Although AMD itself has not yet announced the exact characteristics of this set of entry-level system logic.
