The crew of the helicopter of the State Emergency Service, which died as a result of the helicopter crash in Brovary, was prepared to perform tasks in difficult conditions.
The CS-225 helicopter (flight number 54) was repeatedly involved in carrying out the tasks of transporting personnel to the places of emergency situations, this is indicated in the report of the State Emergency Service regarding the tragedy.
“Among the aircraft vessels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, this board was most often used due to the possibility of transporting a sufficient number of people at the same time. The ship’s crew was prepared to perform tasks in difficult conditions, had the necessary number of flight hours on EU-225 helicopters,” informs the State Emergency Service.

As reported, today, January 18, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary, Kyiv region. There were nine people on board: six representatives of the operational team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular, the leadership of the ministry – Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, his deputy Yevhen Yenin and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich, as well as three members of the crew of the Emergency Situations. All who were on board the helicopter died.
Currently, it is known that a total of 16 people died as a result of the tragedy, including three children. 30 people were hospitalized, including 12 children.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Police and other authorized bodies to find out all the circumstances of the helicopter crash.
Investigators of the Security Service have started a pre-trial investigation into the fact that the board fell. Law enforcement officers are considering several versions of the tragedy: violation of flight rules, technical malfunction of the helicopter and deliberate actions to destroy the vehicle.
