Security detained a seminarian of the UOC MP.
During the first service of Metropolitan Epiphanius of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the temple of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, they tried to stage a sabotage. The man wanted to throw a green leaf into the communion cup.
According to the LB publication, the first incident happened on Christmas, and the second – during the service on January 19 at the Epiphany, when Vitaliy S., a seminarian of the UOC MP, was found in the altar.
The man admitted that he wanted to interfere with the service in some way, and in the explanatory note he wrote that he had just come for a walk. He was detained and handed over to the police.
It is worth noting that seminarians have strict rules and are obliged to attend the services of their church. They can even be dismissed for absenteeism, so he could not come to the OCU service on his own.
