In Estonia, they decided to create a precedent so that other countries would not have any excuses why they cannot provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons, the ambassador noted.
Estonia has decided to give Ukraine all its 155-mm howitzers.
“We are giving all our 155 mm howitzers to Ukraine. And we want to set a precedent in this way so that other countries have no excuses why they cannot provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons to win the war,” said Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk.
The Embassy of Estonia reminded that the government of this country has approved the next and currently the largest package of military aid to Ukraine with a total cost of 113 million euros. According to the report, it includes dozens of 155-mm FH-70 and 122-mm D-30 howitzers; thousands of 155 mm artillery shells; hundreds of M2 “Karl-Gustaf” anti-tank grenade launchers with ammunition and means of support for artillery units.
It is also noted that Estonia will continue to provide both basic and specialized training to soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
War in Ukraine: Aid to Estonia
As reported, on January 19, the government of Estonia supported the proposal of Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur to transfer to Ukraine a package of military aid, which includes long-range and anti-tank weapons, as well as shells worth a total of 113 million euros.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Estonia noted that, taking into account the new package, the total volume of Estonian aid to Ukraine increased to 370 million euros, that is, a little more than 1% of the country’s GDP.
On January 21, Estonia, together with Lithuania and Latvia, called on Germany to provide Ukraine with Leopard-2 main battle tanks.
