According to David Arahamia, “not on time” no longer works.

The head of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arakhamia, said that active arrests of corrupt officials are likely to take place in the spring. Many of them ignored calls to focus on the war and aid the victims. Therefore, the “not on time” principle will no longer work.

Arahamiya wrote about this in his personal Telegram channel: “Probably, this spring we will definitely plant actively. It will not work humanely, it will be according to the laws of wartime. In the near future, the competition for the position of NABU director will end, and we will complete the construction of an independent anti-corruption infrastructure. “No on time” no longer works. Some people have lost consciousness and loot without fear or remorse.”

As Arahamiya stated, this applies both to the purchase of generators and to recent scandals in the Ministry of Defense. According to him, today the Committee will deal with the situation. The head of “Servants of the People” intends to return parliamentary control over the executive power.

Arahamiya separately noted that “since February 24, officials at all levels have been constantly warned by official and unofficial channels: to focus on the war, help the victims, reduce bureaucracy and stop engaging in dubious affairs.” However, some ignored these calls.

Scandal with purchases in the Ministry of Defense: what is known

On January 21, the Ukrainian mass media published an investigation into the procurement of food for the rear military units of the Armed Forces, which the Ministry of Defense planned to carry out. The prices in the contracts were many times higher than the cost of the same products in Kyiv supermarkets.

The Verkhovna Rada summoned the leadership of the Ministry of Defense to a meeting of the parliamentary committee on national security in connection with the procurement scandal.

The Ministry of Defense published a response to the investigation only on January 22. Representatives of the department stated that “the journalists’ material contained signs of deliberate manipulation and is misleading.” The Ministry is preparing materials for the Security Service of Ukraine to conduct a review in connection with the “distribution of deliberately false information that harms the interests of defense in a special period.”

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense announced an official inspection. And the Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, requested to urgently hold a meeting of the Committee and to hear comprehensive information about the procedure, circumstances and results of the procurement of food services for military personnel for 2023 with the participation of representatives of the NABU and the State Bank of Ukraine.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, an investigation will be conducted in every scandalous situation. This also applies to purchases by the Ministry of Defense.
