The enemy is trying to strengthen the defense in some areas of the left bank of the Dnieper.

Russian occupiers suffer heavy losses at the front. Because of this, they have to raise new forces.

Nataliya Gumenyuk, the head of the press center of the security and defense forces of the “South” operational command, said on the air of the “Espresso” TV channel that the invaders are afraid of the advance of the Armed Forces.

“The reorganization of all the medical institutions of the Left Bank into hospitals, their overcrowding, indicates that the physical losses in the enemy’s army are high, so they are raising new forces. They need not only to prepare for an offensive, they also need to maintain a defense. The terrain is large, the direction of our fire actions are already clear to them. The Russians are afraid of the advance of our forces,” Humenyuk explained.

According to the head of the press center, the invaders are trying to strengthen the defense in some areas of the left bank of the Dnieper. Instead, it is not excluded that the enemy’s forces will be drawn up in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.

“In the Zaporozhye direction, the enemy is trying to strengthen our defenses. The enemy is trying to make sorties with reconnaissance and assault groups. This tactic of the enemy is predictable, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are giving a strong repulse. Now the front line is quite mobile. It is constantly changing geographically, but these are not critical changes, but the procedure for launching hostilities when the actions go beyond the counter-battery confrontation,” Humenyuk emphasized.

As previously reported by , as of January 23, the losses of the enemy were approximately 121,480 people.

During the day, Ukrainian troops liquidated three enemy ammunition depots and shot down the occupiers’ drone. Ukrainian aviation struck three areas of concentration of the enemy, and rocket launchers and gunners hit 4 areas of concentration of the occupiers.

According to the General Staff, the Russian occupiers continue their offensive in the direction of Bakhmut. In the Lymansky, Avdiivsky and Zaporizhzhya directions, the enemy is conducting unsuccessful offensive actions, and in other directions – is conducting defense.
