A recruited local resident gave the occupiers the coordinates of critical infrastructure objects for further missile strikes.

A Russian agent was exposed in Kropyvnytskyi, who was preparing a rocket attack by the occupiers on local power stations.

According to the message of the Security Service of Ukraine, an associate of the occupiers was collecting information on the placement of units of the Defense Forces and critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of the region.

“First of all, he was interested in the locations of local energy facilities. Also, according to the instructions of the enemy, he had to install a GPS tracker near one of the transformer substations in Kropyvnytskyi. According to the “beacon” signals, the occupiers wanted to correct a missile strike on a Ukrainian energy facility,” the message says .

The SBU added that in the event of a successful air attack, the invaders planned to continue a series of shelling of the city territory, using the “guidance” of their agent.

“However, the SBU employees detected the intruder in time and detained him while trying to install a GPS device near the city’s electric substation,” the details in the SBU revealed.

According to the investigation, the traitor was a local resident who was recruited by the FSB of the Russian Federation after the start of a full-scale invasion. The man came to the attention of the occupiers because of his pro-Kremlin views, which he repeatedly made public among his entourage.

During the inspection of the scene and searches of the detainee’s residence, law enforcement officers found:

▪️ GPS tracker with a SIM card of a mobile operator;

▪️ phones and computer equipment with evidence of correspondence with the FSB.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified the suspect of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code (“treason committed under martial law”). The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
