As Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Marcin Ochepa noted, the US and the EU can collect such a number of combat vehicles “without much effort.”
Ukraine’s international partners can “easily” provide Kyiv with a hundred Leopard 2 tanks against the background of Berlin’s permission to supply combat vehicles.
Just today, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz gave the “green light” to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
As Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Marcin Ochepa noted in a WP.PL comment, now Ukraine’s partners in the form of the US, EU countries, and possibly Canada can consolidate and “without much effort” collect 100 such tanks for Kyiv.
“Every day of delay is a mortal sin for the defenders of Ukraine, it is worth the lives of these people, and therefore it is extremely important for Europe to pass this exam,” Ochepa said.
Peace reaction to the decision to supply Leopard 2 to Ukraine
It will be recalled that Germany’s decision to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine provoked many conversations about the readiness of other countries to send German tanks to Kyiv in one or another quantity.
The mass media write that Portugal can send a third of its “workers” of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine against the background of permission for re-export. It is about four combat vehicles.
Spain also announced its readiness to join the European coalition of countries that was formed to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
It is expected that the Biden Administration may announce the transfer of Abrams tanks to Ukraine this week.
