On January 30, the All-Ukrainian program to reduce the load on the country’s energy system and reduce the deficit of electricity for users started, which provides that every Ukrainian will be able to exchange 5 old incandescent lamps for 5 energy-efficient LED bulbs.
The first batches will arrive in the regional centers (except for the temporarily occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Simferopol and Sevastopol), as well as in Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk and Kryvyi Rih. By the end of February, LED lamps should be sent to other settlements in Ukraine.
The exchange will take place in two ways. with and without prior order. If you pre-register through the “Diya” application, the lamps are guaranteed to be waiting for the customer at Ukrposhta branches 5 working days after receiving confirmation by phone. If you come without registration, the lamps will be exchanged only if they are available.

How to make an application through Diya:
- log in to the “Action” application;
- select the “Services” and “Exchange of light bulbs” sections;
- specify the contact phone number and branch of “Ukrposhta” where you want to receive lamps;
- specify the type and quantity of LED lamps you want to receive.
Detailed instructions – in the video:
All citizens of Ukraine over the age of 18, with a passport and RNOCPP, will be able to get lamps. The exchange is carried out only once, exclusively for working light bulbs. If the order is not picked up within 5 working days, it will be cancelled.
Why should you change the lamps?
With the beginning of massive shelling, Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of electricity. According to Ukrenergo, up to 40% of energy is consumed by households, and one of the main sources of increased load on the power grid is old incandescent lamps, which use 8 times more electricity than modern lamps.
At the end of 2022, the European Commission agreed to finance the purchase of about 30 million LED lamps for Ukraine. Another 5 million lamps will be provided by the French government.
7-10% – this is how electricity consumption will decrease at times of peak load on the Ukrainian power system when mass replacement of old lamps with energy-saving ones. According to estimates, 50 million LED lamps will help save about 1 GWh of electricity — the annual production volume of a nuclear power plant unit.
As of 14:00, the Action is down, probably due to a large influx of users. When trying to submit an application, an error message pops up.
