GBR prevented sabotage at the Kurakhiv thermal power plant.
The State Bureau of Investigation prevented sabotage at the Kurakhiv thermal power plant in the Donetsk region. This was reported by the press service of the DBR.
“In the course of a special operation, GBR employees prevented sabotage at the Kurakhiv TPP, which was being prepared by an ex-law enforcement officer from the Donetsk region together with his accomplice,” the report says.
In particular, it was established that after the Russian occupiers captured a part of the Donetsk region, an official of one of the law enforcement agencies of the region began working for the enemy.
“Supporting the idea of a “Russian world,” the person involved planned to use explosives to damage the Kurakhiv TPP. He hid explosive devices, ammunition, and means of initiating the explosion in advance in a specially equipped hiding place near the TPP, but on the territory controlled by Ukraine. And to carry out an explosion at the “ob” “the object” “had an accomplice with whom he actively discussed sabotage plans, including through social messengers,” the report says.
It is noted that the SBI investigators established the fact of sabotage preparation as part of the investigation into the treason proceedings of the former law enforcement officer, who conducted filtering measures at one of the checkpoints in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. While working for the occupiers, he checked cars and looked for people among drivers and passengers who belong to law enforcement agencies or military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and cooperate with the state authorities of Ukraine.
Thus, the DBR employees exposed his intentions regarding sabotage, established the location of the hiding place and prevented a terrorist attack.
It is reported that the ex-law enforcement officer was notified in absentia of suspicion of treason and preparation for sabotage (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment.
Currently, SBI employees are looking for the suspect’s accomplice. Procedural management is carried out by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The fight against traitors in Ukraine
As reported, yesterday the SBU detained “infiltration agents” of the FSB of Russia, who were “merging” enemy positions of the Armed Forces and recruiting new informants.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the SBU has exposed more than 600 Russian agents and spies in Ukraine.
We will remind you that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the establishment of criminal liability for collaborative activities.
