Searches of officials and corrupt officials
As reported, on February 1, acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Makyk, announced that security forces would carry out a series of large-scale operational and investigative measures aimed at fighting the internal enemy.
According to him, it is about traitors of Ukraine and agents of the Russian special services; representatives of organized crime; officials, officials and corrupt officials who undermine the country’s economy and the stable functioning of the defense-industrial complex.
On this day, as part of open proceedings in different regions of Ukraine, dozens of searches were conducted and suspicions were handed over to those involved in the cases.
In particular, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported the suspicion to ex-deputy director of the Department of State Procurement of the Ministry of Defense Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, ex-deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov and former deputy of the state enterprise Promoboronexport Volodymyr Tereshchenko. All of them were responsible for concluding contracts for providing the Armed Forces with means of protection.
The Ministry of Defense itself declared that it has zero tolerance for corruption and supports law enforcement agencies in carrying out procedural measures in every possible way.
