Journalists found out that the British government intends to seriously consider this issue on February 6.
The British government intends to join Washington’s decision and recognize PMK “Wagner” as a terrorist organization. Membership in a private military company will then be recognized as a criminal offense.
According to The Telegraph, the British Ministry of Internal Affairs is currently actively working on sanctions against PVK “Wagner”.
The journalists found out that such a step on the part of London would also entail criminal liability, not only for membership in the ranks of the organization, but also for attending the events of the “Wagners”, as well as the use of relevant symbols.
Also, the inclusion of PMC “Wagner” in the list of terrorist organizations can block the company’s financial flows within Britain.
According to the publication, the intentions to introduce sanctions and limit the activities of the “Wagnerians” have been heard in the British government since January 2023. However, before a more decisive discussion, officials are ready to begin the planned discussions on February 6.
Sanctions against PVK “Wagner”
The US State Department stated that Washington is actively working to “neutralize” the activities of PMC “Wagner” as early as January 2023.
By the end of the month, the government moved to more decisive action and on January 26 imposed sanctions against PVK “Wagner” and a number of Russian officials associated with the private military company.
This decision of the allies was supported by the Ukrainian People’s Deputies. This week, a resolution on the recognition of the Russian PVK “Wagner” as an international criminal organization appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
