On the official YouTube channel of the “Office” series, an extended version of the scene where Michael Scott and his colleagues became interested in parkour and tried to recreate tricks in the Dunder Mifflin office appeared.
The Office aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013, spanning 9 seasons with 201 episodes. The series received 42 nominations for the Emmy Award and was awarded the title of “Outstanding Comedy Series” in 2006. One of the features of the pseudo-documentary sitcom was the use of the “cold open” technique in the episodes – the scenes were usually not connected to the further plot at all, and one of the most famous was the one where the office employees got excited about parkour.
A few years late, Michael Scott (Steve Carell), Dwight (Rain Wilson) and Andy (Ed Helms) try to create an Internet sensation by making videos of their attempts to recreate parkour tricks.
“The goal is to get from point A to point B as original as possible. Where point A is an illusion, and point B is a hospital,” commented colleague Jim (John Krazinski).
Now “The Office” offers to watch an extended version of the scene, which added moments with Michael crashing into the elevator door and then jumping down the hall with Dwight, as well as Andy rolling a giant tire. Next, the tired trio are placed in the recreation room, much to the displeasure of Stanley (Leslie David Baker).

Since the second season, most episodes of the series began with “opening scenes” – including the moment when Michael burned his leg on the grill and demanded that one of his colleagues pick him up; and the only helper was Dwight, who was in such a hurry that he got a concussion.
The scene from episode 26 of season 5 (where Kevin (Brian Baumgartner) describes the process of making chili before tragically dropping the dish on the floor) has probably had the biggest impact on popular culture. Kevin’s secret recipe was subsequently released in the actor’s extensive cookbook and, surprisingly, in Peacock’s streaming terms and conditions.
The parkour scene is still one of the most famous and fan-favorites of the show, although there have been plenty of interesting episodes since, including the one where Jim and Pam learn Morse code to tease Dwight, and the one where an office security meeting devolves into a discussion of the most effective way kill Bin Laden, Hitler and Toby at the same time.
Extended versions of these scenes, as well as other unreleased content, have been streaming on the Peacock streaming service since February 1. Maybe some of them will also appear on YouTube.
