After several powerful earthquakes in Turkey, as a result of which dozens of buildings collapsed, the footballer of the national team of Ghana and the former player of “Chelsea” Christian Atsu found himself under the rubble.
As Turkish journalist Ekrem Kontur reported, Atsu, who has been playing for Turkish Hatayspor since September last year, does not get in touch. The club is known to be based in the city of Kahramanmaras in the south-eastern part of Turkey, which has been badly affected by earthquakes. In addition, the sports director of the club, Taner Savut, cannot be contacted.
31-year-old Christian Atsu is known for his performances for the Ghana national team, as well as a number of European clubs. The player has performances in such teams as “Porto”, “Vitess”, “Everton”, “Malaga” and “Newcastle”. From 2013 to 2017, the midfielder played for the London “Chelsea”.
Due to the tragedy, all sports events in Turkey have been canceled. “Dynamo”, “Shakhtar” and other UPL clubs are also in the country for training sessions. The press services of the clubs have already reported that the football players were not injured by the earthquakes.
