As reported, from May 21, 2022, the National Bank canceled restrictions on setting the exchange rate at which authorized institutions can sell cash foreign currency to clients. Previously, the relevant exchange rate should not have deviated from the official rate by more than 10%.

On July 21, the National Bank lowered the official exchange rate of the hryvnia by 25% to UAH 36.57/dollar.

What will happen to the course in February: predictions

Analyst Oleksiy Kozyrev predicted that in February, the peak of fluctuations in the euro exchange rate will occur at the beginning of the month, as the international markets will be feverish with the euro/dollar pair in connection with the meetings of the US Federal Reserve and the ECB on interest rates.

According to Kozyrev’s forecast, banks will set their quotations within the corridor from 39.70 to 41.10 hryvnias, and the euro – from 42.20 to 44.25 hryvnias.

In turn, the head of Concorde Capital’s analytical department, Oleksandr Paraschy, predicted that the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine will not change drastically in February and that the hryvnia is expected to strengthen slowly.
