According to the secretary of the National Security Council, the intensification of offensive actions is connected with the anniversary of the war.

A new large-scale offensive of the Russian occupation forces may begin in the Kharkiv or Zaporizhzhia regions.
This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with Reuters. At the same time, he noted that the extent to which the Russians’ attempts will be successful will depend only on the Armed Forces.
“Attempts to attack in either the Kharkiv or Zaporozhye directions will, of course, be made,” Danilov said.
According to the secretary of the National Security Council, the intensification of offensive actions is connected with the anniversary of the war. In particular, the Kremlin “needs to show something to its people.”
“They must have a great desire to do something big, as they see it, by that date,” he added.
Russia’s new offensive
As previously reported, retired lieutenant general Ben Hodges is skeptical of a possible major offensive by the Russian army.
According to ISW, Russia does not have sufficient combat power for a successful major offensive.
At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence officers believe that Russian troops will go on the offensive in three directions. We are talking about Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
