The OnePlus company began to master new categories of devices for itself. It announced the OnePlus Pad tablet and the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro mechanical keyboard.
The new OnePlus Pad is equipped with an 11.6-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2000p and an unusual aspect ratio of 7:5. The display supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz and Dolby Vision technology, and the speaker system supports Dolby Atmos. The novelty supports the possibility of using a stylus. The device contains a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor and up to 12 GB of RAM.
The battery has a capacity of 9510 mAh and provides up to 14.5 hours of battery life in video playback mode. Thanks to the support of fast charging with a capacity of 67 W, the battery can be fully charged in 80 minutes. On the back is a large camera, reminiscent of the OnePlus 11 smartphone module, but its specifications are not reported. The company says the tablet is designed to seamlessly connect to OnePlus smartphones, such as data, to eliminate the need for a second SIM card.
The OnePlus Pad will be available for pre-order in April. Its price has not yet been specified. In addition, it will be possible to buy a OnePlus Stylo stylus and a Magnetic Keyboard.
During the development of the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro, the company collaborated with the manufacturer of mechanical keyboards Keychron. The novelty is surprisingly similar to the Keychron Q1 Pro model. The device uses a 75 percent laptop-style layout with hot-swappable switches. A small programmable rotary switch is available in the upper right corner.
There are also some differences from the sibling. The OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro includes a set of keycaps in OnePlus’ signature gray and red colors, and its rotary switch is transparent. There is a stand on the upper edge of the keyboard that allows you to adjust the height. The device has a switch between USB and Bluetooth modes, RGB lighting.
OnePlus does not specify information about the battery life of the keyboard. But it contains the same battery as the Keychron Q1 Pro. So you can expect up to 300 hours of operation with the backlight off and up to 100 hours with the backlight on.
The keyboard is available with two types of switches: Winter Bonfire tactile switches and Summer Breeze linear switches. The company claims they are original designs. Double keycaps with OEM profile. In the Winter Bonfire version, they are made of durable PBT plastic, while in the case of the Summer Breeze, they use caps with a “brand new material” called Marble-mallow.
The OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro will be available for order in April, the price has not yet been announced.
