The air arsenal of the 59th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was replenished with two dozen DJI quadcopters and 35 powerful diesel generators, which were purchased and transferred to the military by the Techia Foundation and Oleg Krot. The cost of renewal is more than UAH 6.8 million.
The 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk received a large reinforcement from the Techia Foundation NGO, the organization’s website reports. These are 10 DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo quadcopters, 10 DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced and 35 diesel generators with a capacity of 6.9 kW each.
DJI’s civilian drones are primarily needed by the military for reconnaissance, but can perform other important tasks. For example, the DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo model can stay in flight for up to 46 minutes, reach a speed of up to 19 m/s and transmit data at a distance of up to 15 km. And artificial intelligence technologies and high-quality cameras allow effective reconnaissance, focusing for surveillance and detecting danger.
The generators will provide power to the command posts of the brigade’s divisions, which will allow convenient planning of operations and ensure the survival of the military in the field.
“In November 2022, the soldiers of the 59th brigade took part in the battles in the south and the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, and now they are working in the Donbas. I am sure that with our support and the support of other volunteers, they will bring many more good news to Ukraine,” comments Oleg Krot. director of the Techia Foundation and managing partner of the TECHIIA holding.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Techia Foundation has repeatedly supplied the Defense Forces of Ukraine with drones. In particular, these are FlyEye flight complexes, several dozen DJI drones, 6 Autel quadcopters and a VTOL-type unmanned aircraft complex, that is, an aircraft-type drone with vertical take-off and landing.
In total, the Techia Foundation purchased $22 million worth of necessary items for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. A separate contribution was made by Oleg Krot personally – almost $40 million was converted into protection and useful items for the soldiers. Due to military secrecy, the details of these purchases are not disclosed.
