The Ukrainian president noted that for the first time in history, the EU provides military aid of this scale.

During his speech in the European Parliament, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to modern European leaders who are helping Ukraine without precedent.

“I will have the opportunity to personally thank the heads of states and governments of Europe, whose decisions this year have allowed our continent to do what the previous wave of leaders thought was impossible,” he said.

According to Zelenskyi, Europe is finally getting rid of its destructive dependence on Russian fuel and is being cleansed of the corrupting influence of Russian oligarchs, protecting itself from Russian agents who viewed European countries as a hunting ground for opponents of the Russian dictatorship.

In addition, Zelensky also mentioned Ukraine’s path to the EU. He noted that he believes in a positive assessment of internal reforms that are being carried out despite the war.

“We are getting closer to the European Union. Ukraine will be a member of the European Union. A winning Ukraine is a winning member of the European Union,” Zelenskyy concluded.

Zelensky’s European tour

On February 8, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, made an unannounced visit to the EU countries. He was the first to visit Great Britain, where he met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and delivered a speech in the British Parliament. In addition, the Ukrainian leader was received by the British King Charles III.

The second stop was Paris, where Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
