How to cook pea soups with smoked meats?
Such a dish should be started by preparing groats. Rinse the peas under running water several times, place in a saucepan, pour so that it covers the peas. Start cooking on moderate heat. As it boils, add a small amount of cold water to the peas.
Prepare the potatoes: peel them and cut them into cubes. When the peas are cooked and reduced to a soft puree, add more water, bay leaves, salt to taste and chopped potatoes to the pan, then leave on the heat until the potatoes are cooked.
