The elite 155th marine brigade of the Russian Armed Forces was defeated on the Ugledarskyi direction, Politico reports.

“A large number of the enemy’s manpower, including the command staff, was destroyed near Vugledar and Maryinka in the Donetsk region. In addition, over the last week, the enemy lost about 130 units of equipment, including 36 units of tanks,” – said the spokesman of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction Oleksiy Dmytrashkovskyi. .

According to Dmytrashkovsky, Russian troops were losing 150 to 300 marines per day near Vugledar.

The 155th brigade had to be supplemented three times already. The first time after Irpen and Buchi; they were defeated for the second time near Donetsk – they recovered again. And now almost the entire brigade has already been destroyed near Vugledar, added Dmytroshkovsky.

However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in no hurry to celebrate the victory, as Russian troops continue to storm Ukrainian positions near Vugledar, Avdiivka, and Bakhmut.

“We would like weapons from our partners to arrive faster, as this would give us the opportunity not only to defend ourselves and deter attacks, but also to finally push them out of our territory,” Dmytrashkovsky noted.

Russia went on the offensive – failures of the Russian Federation under Vugledar

The day before, the Institute for the Study of War stated the beginning of a new Russian offensive on the Luhansk region. This is consistent with intelligence data, which noted that Putin ordered the capture of Donbas by March.

According to the expert Vladyslav Seleznyov, the offensive is currently underway in five directions of the Ukrainian front. This is the direction to Kupyansk, Liman, battles in the area of Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and the Vugledarsky direction.

However, according to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny, the Armed Forces managed to regain some lost positions.

According to the data of the Dutch OSINT project Oryx, the Russian invaders lost at least 103 units of military equipment in just three days of the offensive near Vugledar and Avdiivka. Among the losses were 36 combat tanks. The losses of the Russian Federation under Vugledar and Bakhmut are confirmed by British intelligence. The results of such assaults for the Russian Federation were minimal.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russia is preparing to increase its attacks in eastern Ukraine in the coming weeks. However, it does not have the resources necessary to launch such a large-scale offensive operation.
