After many delays and postponements, the developers of Dead Island 2 have changed the game’s release date again. But this time, instead of the traditional delay, the release of the game is scheduled a week earlier. Instead of releasing the game on April 28th as previously planned, Dead Island 2 will now be released on April 21st.
“You asked for it, you got it. Dead Island 2 has gone gold and is coming out a week early,” said publisher Deep Silver on Twitter.
Dead Island 2 will no longer be released on the same day as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, thanks to the release date pushback. Both games were set to launch on consoles and PC on the same day after Electronic Arts delayed the release of Respawn’s new game late last month. Deep Silver didn’t mention it, but after a long and troubled development, the last thing it wants is for Dead Island 2 to compete directly with a new Star Wars game.
You decided what you wanted. Dead Island 2 went gold and it’s coming out a week early.

Dead Island 2 was first announced back in 2014. During this time, she changed two different studios, and again she was talked about in August of last year. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Epic Games Store. This will be the first game with Amazon’s Alexa Game Control technology.
