United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin says that the Allies have committed to providing Ukraine with armored vehicles and tanks for more than “eight combat brigades”.

According to the correspondent, he said this at a briefing after the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (“Ramstein-9”), which took place in Brussels (Belgium). Austin noted that at the Ramstein-9 meeting, it was confirmed that the Allies will support Ukraine in its defense against Russia for the long term.

“And we will act with the urgency that the current moment demands,” Austin said. “We continue to work together to provide full-fledged credible capabilities, and not just equipment. And that’s why we’ve discussed synchronizing our efforts for an integrated training plan (for the Ukrainian military – ). You can see the importance of our coordination and joint efforts to meet Ukraine’s needs in armored vehicles.”

In particular, he said that members of the contact group provided the Ukrainian defenders with armored vehicles for more than “eight combat brigades”. According to Austin, these are American armored vehicles Bradley, Stryker, M1 Abrams tanks, British Challenger 2 tanks, Canadian Senator armored vehicles, German Leopard tanks, as well as refurbished Soviet T-72 tanks.

He confirmed again that Italy and France are preparing the transfer of SAMP-T air defense systems to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Nordsee-Zeitung published a photo of the Bremerhaven, which arrived at a German port, from the United States of military equipment for Ukraine. In particular, it is about the Avenger air defense system and the M2 Bradley BMP.

In addition to the Bradley, local journalists counted another 280 different military vehicles.
