In Ukraine, already from March, electricity consumption will decline, the Derzhenergonadzor noted.
In the absence of new missile and drone attacks by the Russians, the power outage schedules for the population in Ukraine will not apply.
Ruslan Slobodian, the head of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision, said this on the air of the telethon. “If there are no massive attacks, then the exclusion schedules will definitely not be applied. There is absolutely no need for this, the generation is enough now,” he said.
According to the official, from March consumption in the country will decline, so the deficit will be even smaller.
Slobodian also noted that now the situation in the energy system has significantly improved due to the increase in production volumes at thermal power plants, the commissioning of all NPP power units.
The situation with electricity in Ukraine – what you need to know
As reported, on February 10, Russian military terrorists carried out 14 missile attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities.
Occupants entered heat and hydro generation facilities and transformers, emergency power outages were applied in many regions. Four thermal power plants of DPEK were also damaged, and energy companies suffered.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders due to missile and drone attacks, as well as the occupation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, Ukraine has lost 44% of its nuclear generation and three-quarters of its TPP capacity.
Despite this, for the fourth day in a row NEC “Ukrenergo” does not set consumption limits for Oblenergo, and electricity generation fully covers consumption.
