As Oleksandr Kosovan, the founder of the MacPaw company, said, law enforcement officers searched the company’s office and his home. According to Oleksandr, all the necessary documents were provided to the investigators in advance. Therefore, in his opinion, the searches in this case were optional, but the civil servants decided otherwise.

Oleksandr Kosovan believes that the searches are being conducted in connection with the fact that the officials want to take possession of land plots belonging to the company, in which millions of dollars have been invested.

“The reason for the searches was the desire of officials to take possession of land plots that MacPaw legally acquired between 2016 and 2021. We do not rule out that due to imperfections in the land legislation and its outdated regulation, some mistakes could have been made by officials. That is why we provide the law enforcement officers with all the requested information and for more than three years we have been conducting a dialogue with the local authorities in order to correct these mistakes and have the opportunity to create a truly interesting and valuable project in Ukraine. But after we invested tens of millions of dollars in the development of the plots, officials became interested in them, and now they are trying to take away these lands and assets,” Oleksandr Kosovan writes.

“I am sorry that at a time when Ukrainians should unite and do everything possible for Ukraine’s victory as soon as possible, there are persons in power inside the country who put their own interests above the interests of the whole country. For the sake of their own enrichment, these officials deprive Ukraine of millions of dollars of investments and create an unfavorable investment climate in the country. Such actions, together with the blocking of the work of one of the largest Ukrainian food companies, are a crime against the entire people of Ukraine,” concluded Oleksandra Kosovana.
