The Ukrainian studio Piggy Games announced its intention to release the first Hoglands game, which has been in development since 2021. It’s a side-scrolling strategy game with elements of survival, role-playing, and hand-drawn graphics inspired by the Middle Ages.

The creators of Hoglands were inspired by such games as Kingdom: Two Crowns, Until We Die and Tails of Iron. The action takes place in the kingdom of pigs, which suffer from a terrible disease that turns everyone into dangerous creatures. The player has to take control of a noble pig who tries to save the survivors and find out the cause of all the troubles. At the same time, you need to develop your base and reflect the attacks of constantly increasing waves of enemies.

In the course of the game belongs:

• Hire workers and soldiers, give them orders and assign them to work.
• Build fortifications, develop your base and research new technologies.
• Conduct raids to destroy sources of plague and collect rare resources.
• Equip the main character and get new abilities that will help in an unequal fight.
• To make sacrifices to the gods, hoping to receive gifts and blessings.

The game has a dynamic change of the time of day, depending on which the game balance will shift in one direction or another. Hoglands will have several levels with different victory conditions, from surviving for several weeks to killing bosses and completing quests.
