Exacerbations are possible in other areas, but Russia’s key task now is the East.
The Russian occupiers will try to capture the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions by the end of March. Andriy Yusov, the spokesman of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, announced this on the air of an information telethon.
“Now Putin, or collective Putin, has set a task for Gerasimov and the occupation corps in Ukraine until the end of March – this is another date, there have been many such dates – to occupy the Ukrainian Donbas and enter the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. As in all past times, they do not have it But now we see this rush, these frantic attempts to throw manpower and burn equipment, which are now happening in the east,” he said.
Yusov noted that escalations are possible in other directions, but the key task for Russia now is the East, in order to “at least demonstrate something during the year of this shameful war.”
Russia’s offensive in 2023 – what is known
Experts confirmed the beginning of a new offensive of Russia in Donbas, now active fighting continues in Kupyansk, Lymansk, Bakhmutsk, Avdiivsk and Shakhtarsk directions, in the areas of Hryanikyvka, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka and Vugledar.
However, as the Western press writes, the Kremlin does not yet have large resources to expand offensive actions.
In the Vugledar direction, the Russian Federation suffered a crushing defeat during the assaults – the 155th brigade of Russian marines was completely destroyed.
The sharp increase in casualties among the invaders is consistent with intelligence that the Russian Federation has left all its resources to seize Donbas by March 2023.
