Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov commented on the situation with searches in the office and home of the founder of MacPaw and admitted that he was “ashamed that some representatives of law enforcement agencies ran into the office and home of the owner of the top product company of Ukraine.”

“Of course, the court must establish guilt. But we live in a civilized century. The digital economy is the future. You cannot stop the company’s work because of a piece of land. Given the fact that, according to the owner, he was ready to provide all the materials for consideration of the case,” Fedorov noted.

The minister added that such methods “kill any investment climate in the country”, especially during a full-scale war.

“We have sorted out the procedural details of this case. And I am sure that the law enforcement agencies will make all the necessary administrative decisions,” the minister added.

Fedorov also reminded of the need to pass the law on “Show Stop Masks”.

Various business and IT representatives, as well as politicians, have also spoken out about the MacPaw raids. Most commentators condemn the actions of law enforcement officers and call such actions unacceptable. At the same time, the community gives positive feedback about both the MacPaw company and its founder Oleksandr Kosovana.

In turn, the National Police of Ukraine commented on the situation. The agency notes that the National Police and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office conduct investigative actions in the IT company’s management and premises in accordance with court decisions. A pre-trial investigation is carried out on the fact of increasing the coastline without a special permit. This coastline adjoins the land where the recreation complex is being built. Allegedly, land owned by MacPaw is being illegally mined for the construction of a recreation complex, and the land is not being used for its intended purpose. As a result of such actions, the state suffered losses of more than UAH 12.5 million.
