The ambassadors of the EU member states, as part of negotiations on the introduction of a new package of sanctions against Russia, studied a 146-page list of goods that are planned to be banned from being exported to the territory of the aggressor state. The list also includes toilets – one of the main items for theft by the occupiers in Ukraine.

As Euobserver reported, the restrictions will apply to a wide range of industrial goods. These include “bidets, wash basins, cisterns and similar plumbing fixtures” as well as LEDs, spinning yarn, forklifts, mail sorting machines, chimneys, bricks, tires and even “pens and nibs”.

It will be recalled that the occupiers actively stole toilets in the temporarily occupied territories, which confirms the numerous statements of Ukrainians. In one of his January speeches, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said: “Let them take toilets – they will need them on the way – and return home.”

Journalists in the article about sanctions emphasized that there is no toilet in every fifth house in Russia. It became a symbol of the “prosperity” of Russian citizens during the presidency of Vladimir Putin. However, the reporters also pointed out the absence of restrictions in the new package that would affect the diamond and nuclear industries of the Russian Federation. They constitute a significant part of the income and generate funds for the continuation of the war in Ukraine.

New sanctions against Russia: the latest information

The European Commission officially presented the tenth package of restrictions on February 10. It includes a ban on the export of critical technologies and industrial goods totaling more than 11 billion euros.

Poland remained dissatisfied with the new sanctions. The restrictions did not affect Russia’s nuclear energy and diamond industry.

According to Politico, the European Union is also preparing measures against the shipping company SUN Ship Management Ltd. It helps the Russian Federation bypass oil sanctions.
