Local developers are already building homes for American servicemen and their families.
US military personnel can stay at the airport near Rzeszów, 160 km from the Ukrainian border, for up to 10 years.
As the portal RMF24 reported, at the moment, the American military at the airport is engaged in the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine. According to the publication, the Americans rent several hectares of land near the airport from a private entrepreneur. The newspaper learned that the lease agreement is concluded for five years with the possibility of extension for another five years.
Tents and containers where American soldiers live are set up on this plot of land. Nearby there is a depot, which is also rented from a private entrepreneur.
At the same time, the publication noted that land plots on the outskirts of the airport near Rzeszów are being bought up for the construction of apartments and houses for the American military.
Developers predict that the American military will remain on this territory for a long time. As the newspaper noted, for many months, the military rented most of the hotel rooms and rented many apartments. Appeals to the local municipality for the provision of housing continue to grow.
Leslav Kuznyar, the mayor of the commune of Tshebovnisko, where the airport is located, noted that the developers turn to the local authorities precisely with the conditions for the construction of multi-apartment or private houses and specifically for American soldiers. “They explain this by the fact that if the soldiers are here for several years, they will bring their families and they will have to live somewhere,” explained Kuznyar.
