The traitor was wanted since August 2022 and was hiding on the territory of one of the UOC (MP) monasteries in the capital.
A pro-Kremlin blogger wanted for treason was detained in one of the Kyiv monasteries. UNN was informed about this by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the investigation, even before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the suspect began to actively assist the Russian Federation in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. Thus, fulfilling the tasks of his Russian curators, he prepared and sent for publication articles expressing pro-Russian views. These publications were posted on Russian websites, were actively “dispersed” by propagandists and were available to an unlimited number of users.
“The man denied the existence of Ukraine as a state and the Ukrainian people. He popularized and glorified the Russian Federation and its president. At the same time, he spoke negatively and prejudicedly about the Ukrainian language and culture,” the OGPU noted.
The conclusions of the examination confirm that these publications contained calls for violence, racial, national or religious hatred, discrimination, other manifestations of intolerance and enmity, had a negative impact on public opinion, contributed to the spread of Russian propaganda in Ukraine, and posed a threat to national security in the information sphere.
In August 2022, he was informed of suspicion of treason. After that, he began to hide from justice and was declared wanted.
The law enforcement officers managed to locate and detain him on the territory of one of the UOC (MP) monasteries in Kyiv, where he was hiding.
Now, at the prosecutor’s request, the suspect has been selected as an alternative preventive measure – detention.
The fight against traitors in Ukraine
As reported, the SBU detained a Belarusian KGB officer who fought against Ukraine. The man was sentenced to ten years in prison.
Today it became known that in Vinnytsia the traitor was recruiting former Ukrainian prisoners to the ranks of the Russian PMK “Wagner”. And yesterday in the Kyiv region, the headman of the village who supported the occupiers and offered them his help was detained.
