In 2024, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Alliance will be celebrated.
US President Joe Biden announced that the summit of the leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) states will be held in the US next year. He emphasized that the commitment of the States to the NATO alliance and the 5th article is ironclad.
As correspondent reports, the President of the United States of America said this during a speech in Warsaw.
“Next year, I will host every member of NATO for our 2024 summit in the United States. Together, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the strongest defense alliance in the history of the world – NATO. And let there be no doubt: the commitment of the United States to our NATO alliance and Article 5 (Treaty alliance) is ironclad. And every NATO member knows it, and Russia knows it too: an attack on one is an attack on all of us. This is a sacred oath to defend every inch of NATO territory (countries),” Biden emphasized.
The US president noted that the Ukrainian people showed great courage in the war with the Russian Federation, and America, Europe and the coalition of states from the Atlantic to the Pacific became very united.
As Biden emphasized, instead of an “easy victory” in the war against Ukraine, Putin got “burnt tanks and riots in the army.”
“He thought he would get a ‘Finlandization’ of NATO, but instead he got the NATOization of Finland and Sweden. He thought NATO would break and split. Instead, NATO is now more united and cohesive than ever before,” Biden said.
Biden’s statements in Poland
On February 21, 2023, US President Joe Biden paid an official visit to Poland. During his speech, he made several important statements. In particular, Biden emphasized that Ukraine will never be a victory for the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
In addition, he addressed the Russians about the war of aggression unleashed by the country. In his message, Biden said that all the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the alleged threat from the West and specifically the USA are nothing more than lies.
The US president also promised that the West would “stand up for democracy” and continue to support Ukraine. During a speech in Warsaw on the evening of February 21, the American leader emphasized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s dreams of an “easy victory” in Ukraine did not come true.
