The new sanctions come at a time when Washington and its allies, especially in Europe, are looking for new ways to cut off Moscow’s access to critical materials aimed at strengthening its military and technology sectors.

The new sanctions package will be presented by the Ministry of Finance and the US State Department. Restrictive measures against Russian governors and family members of officials are foreseen. They will also cover various goods that can be used in the defense sector and technology companies. In addition, the restrictions will be directed against those who facilitate the evasion of the sanctions introduced earlier.

Sanctions against Russia
