In Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, at the IDEX-2023 exhibition, the Kramatorsk heavy machine tool construction plant presented a new version of the Ukrainian self-propelled gun “Bohdana”. The 2C22 self-propelled installation received a computerized automatic guidance and tracking system, an armored cabin from “Ukrainian armored vehicles”, three chassis options (KrAZ 6×6, Tatra T815 8×8 or MAN), as well as the following characteristics:
- Rate of fire: 5 shots per minute
- Ammunition: 20 shells
- Crew: 5 people
- Weight: 28 tons
The main difference between the 2S22 “Bohdan” ACS and the previous version is the automatic ammunition loading mechanism.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that the manufacturer is ready to start supplying new self-propelled guns for the Armed Forces in the coming months. He also showed his own photo in the cabin of the 2C22 “Bohdan” (the design of the cabin is slightly different from the models presented at the exhibition).
The minister described the number of installations, which are expected to be delivered in the near future, as the first divisions.
